Local Authors to Sign Books at State Street Farmers MarketSeptember 17, 2012
Local authors — including Keith Bartlett, Jim Counts, Joe Tennis, and Carol Jackson — are signing copies of their books at the State Street Farmers Market as part of the annual Authors Day on Saturday, Sept. 22, 8-11 a.m. The State Street Farmers Market is located at the Downtown Center, near the Birthplace of Country Music Mural, just off State Street. Bartlett, of Kingsport, Tenn., is an avid angler and outdoorsman who has authored "The Weekend Angler’s Guide to Good Fishing."
Counts, of Abingdon, Va., is a retired educator and the author of novels set in the local area, including "Rusty Cars and Fallen Stars" and "Blackbird, Bluebird."
Tennis, of Bristol, Va., has released several history books, including the recent "Washington County, Virginia — Then and Now" and a ghostly tale for children called "Finding Franklin: Mystery of the Lost State Capitol."
Jackson, of Piney Flats, Tenn., is a retired schoolteacher and the author of four books, including a poetry collection called "My Way" and an illustrated children's book, "Georgie the Gifted Giraffe."
