1st Annual Young Filmmakers Competition Winners Announced

The City of Bristol, Tennessee held its 1st Annual Young Filmmakers Competition for high school students. The objective of the competition was to engage young filmmakers in the region by providing them with a platform to showcase their creativity alongside the city’s array of public parks. Entrants created a short film, 30-seconds to 2 minutes long, featuring at least 1 of the 30 city parks.

Cash prizes were awarded to the top three films by the Tennessee Entertainment Commission;1st place prize of $500, a 2nd place prize of $300, and a 3rd place prize of $200. Film entries were be reviewed by a panel of judges, with their combined score determining the top 3 winners. As an added distinction, the top three films will be honored at the local PUSH Film Festival scheduled for October 21-23. The winning short films will be included in the Family Friendly Short Block, which will be screened on Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum Performance Theater.
