Art is in Bloom in Downtown Bristol!

March 26, 2012

The pear trees are in full bloom on State Street signaling the return of warmer weather. With the arrival of spring, Downtown Bristol is celebrating with another Art D’Vine a gallery hop and wine tasting event on State Street. On March 30, the gallery owners of the Arts and Entertainment District of Bristol would like to invite the public to come down and partake in the 7th Art D’Vine from 6 pm to 9 pm. “Art D’Vine has grown substantially from our inaugural event last summer,” says Katherine Bowman, Associate Director of Believe in Bristol. “We are delighted so many people appreciate the variety of arts available in Downtown Bristol.”

The community is invited to stroll through Downtown Bristol stopping at Kil’n Time, Benjamin Walls Gallery, One Night Stand Gallery, 606 State Street Gallery, One of a Kind Gallery, Bridgeforth Design Studio and blowfish emporium. Each of the galleries will be featuring a different wine varietal which participants are invited to sample. Each gallery hopper who goes to all 7 galleries will have their name included in a drawing for a gift certificate from Shelbee’s Vintage Café or The Burger Bar.

Art D’Vine participants who have attended prior events are encouraged to come out again as each gallery always features something new from one hop to the next. Benjamin Walls will be exhibiting a new black and white piece shot in New England. Bridgeforth Design Studio will be premiering their new Bristol Racing concept designs as well as taking part in live artwork demos during the event. 606 State Street Gallery will showcase local art with an interactive mime experience that should not be missed. Melanie Atkins will be the in-house artist at Kil’n Time and will be creating glass jewelry with a torch and rods. Blowfish emporium will play host to Celtic Harpist Sandra Parker as Pat Jessee paints live to the rhythms of the music and interaction of the viewers. She will also be featuring new art in her studio.

"I am very excited to be introducing 2 new artists at this Art D'Vine event,” states blowfish emporium owner Bethany Wilson. “Their style of work is completely different than anything I have exhibited and shows how versatile our community is in expressing creativity!"

The spring Art D’Vine is sure to be another fantastic show-stopper. Take advantage of the beautiful weather and make the most of your Friday evening in Downtown Bristol by participating in this fun-filled event.
