Bristol Public Library's Discovery Series Presents James Howe, Children's Author and Humorist

July 11, 2011

James Howe, children’s author and humorist, will be speaking to the Bristol community as part of the Bristol Public Library’s 2011 Discovery Series on Wednesday, July 20th at 10:30 a.m.
“Humor is the most precious gift I can give my reader’s,” James Howe once noted in Horn Book. James will be speaking on how sharing his humor and laughter with his readers has been so rewarding. Best known for the laugh-out-loud tales of vampire bunnies and talking pets that comprise his “Bunnicula” book, Howe is also the author of sometimes painfully funny coming-of-age stories for those in middle school.

Mr. Howe believes that there is more to being a children’s author than writing books; there is a thrill in seeing each idea develop, the satisfaction of receiving letters from readers, and the pleasure of meeting them face-to-face. So, come join us for this entertaining, informative, and hilarious speaker on Wednesday, July 20th at 10:30 a.m.
This event will be held in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room at the Bristol Public Library. Mr. Howe’s presentation is free and open to the public, no ticket is required.
