May 25, 2018

The City of Bristol, Tennessee’s Historic Preservation Awards Committee wants to recognize the people and projects that are making preservation happen. Nominations for the city’s first Historic Preservation Awards are being accepted now through July 11, 2018.

The awards program will be a new initiative for the City of Bristol, Tennessee to celebrate historic preservation efforts and recognize those property and business owners who champion these assets. The awards program will recognize properties located within the three National Register districts designated within the city, the Bristol Commercial Historic District, Fairmount National Register District, and Holston Avenue National Register District. In addition to the three districts, one city-wide award will be issued to a historic property located anywhere within the city limits of Bristol, Tennessee.

Residential and commercial properties are eligible for nomination. There are no costs involved, and anyone may submit a property for consideration or self-nominate.

The City’s Historic Preservation Awards Committee will review nomination forms, and an awards program will be held later this summer to honor the winners.

Nomination forms may be submitted electronically or printed and delivered to the Community Development Department at 104 8th Street.
