Hartley Announces "Meet the Candidate" Event

March 31, 2014

Bill Hartley will host a “Meet the Candidate” event in the Henry J. Kegley meeting room of the Bristol Public Library on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3:00 PM.

The event will include a brief presentation by Hartley of why he is seeking office, his background, and his vision for Bristol’s future. “Most importantly, the event will allow me to hear directly from residents of Bristol, giving them an opportunity to share their concerns, while we discuss ways we can work together to create opportunity and a better future for the City of Bristol, Virginia,” Hartley added.

Hartley is the sole challenger running against three incumbents for one of three city council seats to be determined in the May 6 general election. Hartley grew up in Bristol where he graduated from Virginia High school before attending Clemson University where he received degrees in History & Political Science. He also has received a M.A. degree from University of Alabama and a M.B.A from King University. After college, Hartley returned to Bristol where he has worked as Executive Director of the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance, a management consultant, and is currently employed as a Grants Coordinator with East Tennessee State University’s College of Nursing. Hartley is married and has two
young children.
