"Music on the Mural" Moss Artwork Unveiled

December 19, 2012

Renowned artist P. Buckley Moss is back in the Tri-Cities to unveil her third and final rendering in the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion fine art series. A media event in her honor took place on Friday morning at the Birthplace of Country Music/Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion in Historic Downtown Bristol. The media and number of Moss collectors were in attendance, anxious to purchase their Music on the Mural prints.

"We think she has truly captured the essence of the Mural Stage," says BCM/BRRR Executive Director Leah Ross, "which has more of a traditional bluegrass and old-time music feel."

"You're going to be surprised," said Moss as she began to unveil her work, "because this has a little bit more of my tradition in it too."

Moss drew from a memory of a music family she knew with a little boy who played fiddle, she said she thought he was so cute she incorporated him into her art.

"But these are my Amish people that I brought," Moss says of the tree-climbing, guitar-picking children depicted in Music on the Mural, "I want you to know that I didn't just bring them to you, I brought them to New York and Rockefeller Center too, and you can see them in my gallery."

As done in years past, the cities of Bristol, VA and Bristol, TN were presented with signed and framed prints during the press conference.

Music at The Mural completes the Bristol Rhythm trifecta in true P. Buckley Moss style, following 2010's Music on State Street and last year's Jammin' on Piedmont.

Giclee prints are being sold for $95, fine art posters for $60. For the past three years P. Buckley Moss has graciously donated her talent to Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion as a fundraiser, proceeds on the sale of each print are given back to the organization. Music at The Mural should not be confused with the festival's annual poster artwork.
