New Website for BPL!

March 08, 2010

The Bristol Public Library is pleased to announce the release of our new website. Our new site has been redesigned with help from library staff and The Tombras Group. Still located at www.bristol-library.org, the website will have new features such as library card login from the homepage, photo galleries for all departments, e-newsletter sign-up, links to Facebook and Twitter accounts, an event calendar and more.

“This website update will make it much easier for patrons to access information and give feedback. All of our changes are very functional and enhance the site’s visual appeal. The upgrade greatly expands our ability to show and tell the public about the great things happening here,” says library Executive Director, Jud Barry.

Some features will remain the same, but the new site will be easier to navigate and find the individual services needed. Resources for taxes and job searching will be readily available as will the downloadable e-books.

Another important new feature on the website is online giving. “Many non-profit organizations are increasingly using the internet as a way to accept donations. With the new website in place, donors will now be able to contribute to the library through PayPal,” says library Foundation Executive Director, Anita Foster-Machado.
