Photographer and Artist Ann McCallister will display her photographs at the Bristol Public Library's Virgie R. Fleenor Art Gallery during the months of April & May

Ann McCallister taught art at Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tenn. before retiring in 1997. She began traveling the abroad in the 1980s and has been to many places such as Europe, Hawaii, Belize, Costa Rica, Turkey, Tanzania, Egypt and China. Her photographs were orignally intended to be inspiration for watercolor paintings, but became her means of artistic expression of her love of travel. Ann does not crop or alter her photographs in anyway, but prints them as they are taken.

The Bristol Historical Association used Ann McCallister’s photographs for their “Doors of Bristol” poster and perpetual calendar. Her work has also been shown at the Virginia Highlands Photography Exhibition in Abingdon, Va.

This display runs April 1st – May 31st at the Bristol Public Library in the Virgie R. Fleenor Art Gallery. The library is open Monday- Thursday 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday- Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays 2 p.m.-5 p.m. For questions about the Art Gallery or any other library programs, call 276.821.6148.
