This Mountain and Bryan Elijah Smith & The Wild Hearts at Border Bash on State Street

April 29, 2013

Get ready for a summer packed with free live music and family fun on State Street and beyond — it's time for 2013's Border Bash! Border Bash, the twice-monthly free concert series held annually May through August, celebrates its fourteenth anniversary as a roving mini-fest that has grown to include children’s activities and vendors in addition to live music. The concerts will take place on the first and third Fridays, May through August, with the exception of July 4. Children’s activities will begin at 6:00p.m., live music at 7:00p.m. Admission is free. The first Border Bash concert will be on Friday, May 3 and will feature the music of This Mountain and Bryan Elijah Smith & The Wild Hearts. For more information, please contact Believe inBristol at 276-644-9700.

In May, Border Bash will be held on the 700 block of State Street. The event moves to the 600 block in June and July (with the exception of July 4), and to the 500 and 400 blocks in August.

This Mountain is a collaborative group of friends and musicians making lovely folk-rock tunes for themselves and others. From Johnson City, TN they have been making music together since the fall of 2010, and have been capturing ears and getting bodies moving in the region.

Brian Elijah Smith & The Wild Hearts have a unique sound that is defined by their raw energy and Smith’s genuine songwriting and voice which makes this band one worth not only listening to but experiencing live. Smith has opened for such acts as the Emmitt-Nershi Band and The Wild Hearts have also opened for Trampled by Turtles and Old Crow Medicine Show on the Dreaming Creek Main Stage at FloydFesfX.

Border Bash is hosted by Believe in Bristol, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, and Birthplace of Country Music®, and Celebrate Bristol on the 4th of July.
