Valentine Art D'Vine, a Gallery Hop and Wine Tasting on State Street

February 06, 2012

The holidays are well behind us, and the Arts and Entertainment District is welcoming a brand new year. To kick things off in downtown, the art galleries are planning on helping you stick to your New Years’ Resolutions with their Valentine’s Art D’Vine this Friday, February 10 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Was loosing weight one of your plans for 2012? Our gallery hop is just the answer. Art D’Vine will help you shed the pounds as you stroll, walk or jog from gallery to gallery in our enchanting downtown. Spread out amongst 5 beautiful blocks of our historic district, Kil’n Time, Benjamin Walls Gallery, 606 State Street Gallery, One of a Kind Gallery and blowfish emporium, One Night Stand Gallery and Bridgeforth Design Studio invite you to “gallery hop” off the pounds during this fun-filled event.

Were you hoping to expand your cultural horizons this year? Art D’Vine can assist you in that area as well. Each of the seven galleries will offer you abundantly vast artistic experiences. Listen to local author Chuck Thompson read excerpts from his Bristol-based book, “Why Natasha” at Kil’n Time. Practice your best Mona Lisa smile and model live for an interactive art class at the One Night Stand gallery. Meet one of Bristol’s AiPP exhibiting sculptors, Marvin Tadlock as he showcases his students work. Be one of the first of Bristol’s art-loving community to see Benjamin Walls’ new black and white release from Central Park in New York City. Satisfy your inner sci-fi tastes with a peek at the new Fantasy and Science Fiction art at Bridgeforth Design Studios. One thing is for sure at Art D’Vine: the opportunities are endless.

Have you decided to become the perfect gift giver this year after a less than ideal response to toaster you gave your loved one for Christmas? Allow Art D’Vine to fulfill that resolution and make your gift giving the talk of the town. With 7 galleries to choose from, you will have a number of artistic styling’s at your fingertips this Valentine’s Day. Jewelry, photos, pottery, clothing, sculpture accessories, classes – it is all right here for your choosing at Art D’Vine.

Last but not least, if you have decided it is high time to add to your art collection or discover and support the next Ansel Adams, Art D’Vine is the place to be. Each participant who travels to all seven of the Art and Entertainment District galleries will be entered into a drawing to win one of two generously donated photos from Virginia Intermont College Photography and Digital Imaging Department — a priceless incentive to participate, for sure.
