Custom Designed Bristol Tees at Serendipity!

Every year, around Rhythm and Roots, Serendipity owner, Sarah Hull, designs tee shirts that pay homage to our roots here in Bristol. See below for a message from the owner:

"These tee shirts are a fan FAVORITE and each year we sell out. We do not produce these but once a year, and now is the time. Please hurry in for best selection.

We use premium ultra soft tees and have long sleeve, short sleeve, baseball tees, and amazingly soft sweatshirts. Sizes S-2X and most are unisex, and all shirts are available now in store. These tee shirts are custom designed in house, so you will not find these anywhere else.

We do ship and offer flat rate shipping of $4. Call us to order 276-644-9695. I hope to have these online soon, but don't risk them selling out. Call us today!

All the Best,
Sarah Jane Hull

P.S. The sweatshirts sold out in a matter of days last year. So, if you like one of the sweatshirts, don't hesitate. I don't want you to miss out!"

Bristol Ballet Teresangela Schiano Memorial Scholarship Winner Announced

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bristol TN, VA: Bristol Ballet is proud to announce that Senior Company member Cameron Roberts, 16, is the 2019-20 recipient of the Teresangela Schiano Memorial Scholarship.

Roberts is a junior at Tennessee Avenue Christian Academy. She has been dancing for 14 years, and loves participating in all of the wonderful opportunities Bristol Ballet offers to the dancers. Some of her favorite performances with Bristol Ballet include the March Hare in Alice in Wonderland, Marzipan and Flowers in The Nutcracker, and, most recently, the Wicked Witch of the West and Miss Gulch in The Wizard of Oz. She has also been active with Theatre Bristol since 2014. Her favorite productions include Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, ANNIE, Wizard of Oz, and The Importance of Being Earnest.

Upon receiving the award, Roberts said: “I believe that every dancer in the company deserves this award, and I am extremely honored to be chosen. I hope to make Ms. Teresangela’s family proud.”

The Teresangela Schiano Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to dancers at the intermediate/advanced level of ballet who are also part of Bristol Ballet’s performing company. The chosen dancer must be active in performing and exhibit skill and dedication to excellence. He or she must possess a desire to progress and grow within the art form; aspirations to dance professionally are not a requirement. The scholarship will provide for all fees for the 2018-19 season. This includes tuition, registration, production fees, summer intensive, and an allowance for shoes and dancewear. The fund is capitalized by donations from private individuals or corporations who wish to perpetuate the art of ballet through Teresangela’s memory.

Teresangela Schiano’s untimely death at age 33 on March 8, 2014 shocked and saddened an entire community of friends and family. It was their wish to keep her memory alive and perpetuate the vibrancy that she had on stage, as well as her love for ballet, by establishing the Teresangela Schiano Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bristol Ballet.

About Bristol Ballet

Founded in 1948, Bristol Ballet is focused on educating young people in the classical art of ballet through exceptional ballet training for and productions for the public, Bristol Ballet has served tens of thousands of young dancers and audience members throughout the organization’s distinguished history.

The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf

September 6–15 | Theatre Bristol

Theatre Bristol presents the fairytale comedy "The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf" on stage at the Theatre Bristol ARTspace, weekends September 6-15. Camille Gray directs a cast of 21 from around the region in this fractured fairy tale comedy for all ages. Tickets are on sale now at www.TheatreBristol.org.

The Wolf: villain or victim? The Three Pigs: innocent or at fault? The Jurors (Miss Muffet, Bo Peep, Cinderella and Humpty-Dumpty, to name a few): solid citizens or characters with a past? And what about Judge Wise O. Al? Is justice on his side—or does he have a secret to hide? Then there's the media—a reporter, newscaster and town crier. Have they come to accurately report the proceedings—or to turn the courtroom into a media circus? And who is that surprise witness at the end? The answers to these profound questions and even more are revealed once and for all in this rollicking, fun-filled, action-packed trial-of-the-century (Dramatic Publishing).

The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf opens September 6, and runs for two weekends at the Theatre Bristol ARTspace, Fridays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2:30 pm, closing on September 15. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students, and are on sale at www.TheatreBristol.org.

His backup group, The Po’ Folks Band, is one of the finest instrumental and vocal groups in the business.
