Bristol Balet Presents Coppelia

Coppelia is a charming comedic ballet full of humorous moments and beautiful dancing. Dr. Coppelius is the town inventor, making all sorts of wondrous toys in his mysterious workshop. One of them, a lifesize dancing doll, poses with a book on the balcony of his workshop on the town square. Franz and Swanhilda, two townspeople, are betrothed and in love. But, Franz is distracted by Dr. Coppelius’s “daughter” Coppelia, not realizing that she is really a doll. Swanhilda becomes jealous of the attention Franz gives Coppelia, and sneaks into Dr. Coppelius’ workshop with her friends. Upon discovering that Coppelia is a doll, Swanhilda plays a trick on Dr. Coppelius to make him think his doll really has come to life. Hilarity ensues!
