Spotlight : Marcy Parks

First Friday November we will be spotlighting our favorite local abstract painter, Bristol’s Marcy Parks come visit from 6-8pm on 11/3 as she unveils a new collection of works!

“‘Tis the Season” By Marcy Parks Routine gives the illusion that life is constant and unchanging, as if time is still and we, and all that surrounds us, are permanent fixtures, static and unchanging, quietly performing life.

But then I notice the air feels drier against my skin and the light shining through the trees on the dirt trail is softer and the coolness of night comes earlier and earlier, ushering me indoors like a momma ringing the dinner bell to let the family know it’s time for supper (there’s a reason they call nature “mother”). ‘Tis the season to find the warmth in the heart of the home.

And when I notice the changing of the season, and am reminded of the turning of the wheel, I reflect on the changes I’ve already lived, the lifetimes past, and all the transformations to come.
