We invite you to come learn about the life and legacy of Vernon Dalhart, who was instrumental in recording some of the earliest commercially successful country music records.
About the presenters:
Ted Olson is a professor in Appalachian Studies at East Tennessee State University, and a cultural historian, record producer, editor, poet, photographer, and musician. He has authored and edited numerous works, including articles, essays, and oral histories. Olson teaches about Appalachia's cultural history and serves as Book Series Editor for the Charles K. Wolfe Music Series at University of Tennessee Press.
Jack Hinshelwood is a celebrated singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with over 50 years of experience in traditional and Americana music. He has won several prestigious guitar contests and released the anthology "50 Years in the Making," featuring renowned artists.
