Believe in Bristol Hiring Associate Director to Help Lead Downtown Revitalization Efforts

August 25, 2025 -- Believe in Bristol, the state-designated Main Street program for downtown Bristol, is now accepting applications for the position of Associate Director. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, community-minded individual to play a key role in advancing the revitalization and continued growth of Historic Downtown Bristol.


The Associate Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to implement strategic initiatives that support economic development, small business support, public programming, and downtown beautification. The role also includes community engagement, event planning, volunteer management, and collaboration with both Bristol, TN and VA city partners.


“We’re looking for someone who is passionate about downtown Bristol and ready to roll up their sleeves to help our community thrive,” said Maggie Elliott, Executive Director of Believe in Bristol. “This is a great opportunity for a creative and driven professional to make a tangible impact.”

Key responsibilities include project management, marketing support, grant and fundraising assistance, public advocacy, and administrative duties. Candidates should have strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a working knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing downtown business districts.


A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related experience are preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered. Up to 30 hours/week available. A full job description is available upon request.
