About the event
Ongoing efforts to protect and preserve Bristol’s historic structures will be celebrated Thursday, May 14, as officials from Bristol Tennessee and Bristol Virginia present this year’s Historic Preservation Awards.
The 5:30 p.m. ceremony will be held at Bristol Train Station, 101 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., in Bristol, Virginia. The 2026 event is hosted by the Bristol Virginia Historic Preservation Committee in commemoration of National Historic Preservation Month. Members of the public are encouraged to
attend.
Both cities will present awards honoring residential properties within their respective historic districts, a Citywide Award for a property located outside one of these districts, and a Stewardship Award that recognizes ongoing preservation efforts. A short video highlighting the historic features of each
building will be shown, and winners will be presented with an outdoor plaque designating the property as a Historic Preservation Award recipient.
